Opportunities exist statewide for Transportation Equipment Operators, Diesel and Auto Mechanics, Clerks/Radio Dispatchers, Tradesman Helpers, Welders, Semi-Skilled Laborers, Custodial Workers and Stock Clerks.
Equipment Operators - Graduation from a Commercial Driver's License Training School;OR have two months of experience in the operation and maintenance of single-chassis trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating between 26,000 and 32,000 pounds or any combination unit over 26,000 pounds with a tow greater than or equal to a 10,000 pound trailer; OR have successfully completed the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program; OR have an equivalent combination of experience and training. All candidates will be subject to a driving skills test as part of the interview process. The majority of these tests will be conducted on vehicles with manual transmissions; current/valid Medical Examination Certificate required. Special Requirement: Possession of a valid PA Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake (L) Restriction removed.Diesel Mechanics - Three years of journey level mechanical experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment. The three years should include one year of experience in the diagnosis and repair of diesel vehicles or equipment.Special Requirements: Possession of PA Official Motor Vehicle Inspection Mechanic Certificate, and a valid PA Commercial Driver's License (CDL).Auto Mechanics - Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; OR Completion of an approved apprenticeship; OR Any combination of experience and training. Special Requirements: Certain positions include the possession of a current and valid PA license of the class appropriate to the vehicle operated and inspected; ALL positions require possession of a PA Inspection Mechanic Certification, Class 1 at minimum.Clerks/Radio Dispatchers - Previous clerical or radio dispatching experience, including the utilization of electronic communications equipment and visual display equipment preferred, but not required.Tradesman Helpers - Previous experience working with Auto Mechanics is preferred, but not required.Special Requirement: Certain positions may require possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania's Driver's License.Welders - Four years of experience in the welding trade; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirement: Possession of a Class C Driver's License or above.Semi-Skilled Laborers - One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction.Special Requirement: Certain positions may require possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania's Driver's License.Custodial Workers - Previous custodial and janitorial experience preferred, but not required.Stock Clerks - Graduation from High School or successful completion of a GED program.
