Equipment Maintenance Engineer ? PVD

Job Summary:

GLOBALFOUNDRIES?Fab10 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Equipment Engineer to become part of our 300mm factory in Hopewell Junction, New York. This position will be located at?GLOBALFOUNDRIES?in Hopewell Junction, New York, and report to the Fab10 Equipment/Maintenance Manager with the primary responsibility of?owning specific tool-sets as assigned by the Manager. As an?Equipment Maintenance Engineer, you will have the responsibility for uptime and performance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and support areas. The candidate will be given the opportunity to work with the technical support groups to identify, lead, and implement creative solutions to improve equipment performance and reduce cost. This position will be responsible for?Rapid Thermal Processing / Annealing / Rapid Thermal Chemical Vapor Deposition (RTP/RTA/RTCVD) equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Strong Electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in leading teams with an emphasis on project leadership fundamentals, effective communication and spending justification.
  • Equipment engineering skills with solid experiences in resolving tool related challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of Predictive and Preventive Maintenance techniques.
  • Prioritize and run daily operation and maintenance teams daily resources on shift to ensure efficient floor operations includes internal and vendor resources
  • Be technical resource to support 24x 7 operations within single wafer diffusion area
  • Structured problem solving / troubleshooting tool issues and supporting resolution
  • Ensure maintenance system is updated and kept current with team activities
  • Reduce unplanned down time and improve planned down time predictability
  • Work with management team and operations to drive continuous improvement, standardization, cost reduction and operational efficiency within operation and maintenance
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements and programs.
  • Setup and maintain FDC, PM specification, and other quality systems for the assigned tools.
  • Support yield and Continuous Improvement activities related to the Single Wafer Diffusion Equipment.
  • Use lean manufacturing and six sigma processes.
  • Support installation of new equipment as well as sustaining of existing tools.
  • Develop and train the equipment technicians. Create materials and perform training of technicians working on tools in the area.
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor?or Master?s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related engineering field.?
  • Experience: 8-10 years of relevant experience with one or more of the following platforms is strongly preferred: AMAT Centura Radiance, AMAT DPN, AMAT SinGen, AMAT Vantage, AMAT Vulcan, or Axcelis Summit equipment
  • Demonstrated experience in optimizing unit process for manufacturability.
  • Mastery of principles and working knowledge of various module unit process and equipment.
  • Demonstrated semiconductor equipment engineering proficiency in the following systems and analysis techniques: Xsite or equivalent system (equipment state tracking), SiView (lot tracking), WSPC or other statistical analysis software, FDC, VPD analysis, and component failure analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, and internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and experience in working with external constituencies.
  • Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments. Familiarity with 5S, 8D, 6-sigma, SPC, DOE, FMEA.
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset, permanently driving to identify and eliminate waste and errors in business processes, work procedures and instructions, work organization
  • Capture complex situations very fast, react accordingly and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and experience in working with external constituencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Willing to work on shift/weekend if required due to business needs.
  • Willing to travel for business as required
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor industry and GLOBALFOUNDRIES protocol/requirements, wearing all required clean room protective clothing and equipment up to a 12 hour day and lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues.
