The JCFS team is passionate about designing, constructing, and maintaining energy, water, and utility savings projects at various federal and military sites around the world.Under general direction, this role participates as a member of the service project development & estimating team to achieve department and project objectives for the Aberdeen Proving Grounds team. Leads estimating tasks during development of projects. Performs high level analysis, supports the engineering process, and estimates tasks during solution design of service projects or during detailed development on large projects. Responsible to establish an ongoing partnership with the customer on assigned projects. Provides technical, process or estimating support to management during project design or proposal phase. Assists as needed in developing the customer business case for the conceptual solution.2. Leads or supports detailed estimating of projects. Validates assumptions made during project design or proposal phase. Builds a detailed cost estimate and scope of work for assigned projects in conjunction with Operations and Sales. Assists in preparing proposals and other customer communication documents. Utilizes / develops specialized functional expertise as a project development team member.3. Plays an active role in leading cross-functional teams in the development of specific components of the sale.4. Performs detailed estimating analysis to quantify cost savings or other cost benefits.5. Assists in technical or financial benchmarking as needed. Leads in the development of cost baselines.6. Performs on-site data collection at customer facilities required to perform estimating detailed development tasks.7. Assists in presentations of proposals as required.8. Participates in transition meetings with Operations and Sales to ensure project scope and objectives, timeline and customer requirements are properly understood.9. Uses standard Johnson Controls estimating and development processes and tools in performing tasks.10. Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers and vendors as well as facility mid-level technical managers.11. Responsible for remaining current with relevant estimating and development standards and practices.12. May provide post-contract design review support.13. May provide job cost analysis.14. Supports the promotion and adherence of Johnson Controls safety policies.15. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Works effectively in team settings and displays leadership. Has good written and verbal communication skills and is comfortable working in customer-facing situations.3. Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience4. Strong Personal Computer working capabilities 5. U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance required. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.) Preferred 1. Experience with project estimating, preferably with mechanical projects2. Knowledge and experience working with RSMeans or other estimating software.3. A Bachelor s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.4. Experience with projects related to HVAC controls/BAS management 5. Estimation and/or Project Management software systems experience. 6.
